Beam Physicist

We have an opening at our Foothill Ranch, CA (Orange County) facility for a Beam Physicist. In support of the beam development effort for energy and medical applications, the selected candidate will design and optimize new particle accelerator devices, conduct experiments, analyze and interpret experimental data, interact with in-house technical staff, and integrate the work of outside consultants.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct R&D of particle accelerators; design, prototype, optimize, and lead the fabrication of beams and ancillary equipment. Facilitate the interaction between the engineering and physics teams; coordinate the work of outside consultants and ensure tight integration and efficient knowledge transfer. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain beam injectors, including the ion acceleration system, power supplies, and associated electronics. Write detailed specifications, procedures, and reports to support beam development projects Ensure a solid long-term working relationship between TAE and outside partners based on integrity, trust, and professionalism, securing future business relationships. Required:  Ph.D. in accelerator, beam, or plasma physics or related discipline Minimum 3 years of experience in designing, building, and operating complex experimental systems. Strong background in accelerator science or charged particle beam physics. Strong experience in at least two of the following areas: Ion or electron sources Particle accelerators UHV vacuum systems High voltage electronics (above 10 kV) Control systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong technical knowledge and aptitude to quickly understand systems and technical concepts. Proven decision-making skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision while maintaining a high level of efficiency. Ability to thrive in a challenging, dynamic environment. Must be flexible and quick to adapt to sudden changes and issues. Outstanding analytical and troubleshooting skills. Able to resolve conflict and drive issues to resolution. Detail oriented and organized with a strong discipline of adhering to standards. Ability to cooperate and communicate well with engineering, physics/science, project management and procurement groups.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
