Manager, Community Relations

Description

Role Summary
Responsible for building and maintaining positive relations with community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and the educational community to cultivate a favorable community climate for Cox. Develops and implements programs that positively impact the community and reflect well on the company.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
? Manages community relations programs aligned closely with corporate strategies and programs including but not limited to youth, technology, education, conservation, diversity and inclusion.
? Supports the company's business goals by raising awareness in the community of Cox's residential and commercial products. Collaborates closely with Marketing, Sales and other departments to ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives for maximum benefit and ROI.
? Works closely with Cox Business Services to promote educational technology sales to schools.
? Manages philanthropy efforts and charitable giving activities.
? Manages employee volunteer efforts and involvement on non-profit community Boards of Directors.
? May be a People Leader or a Functional Manager without direct reports; directly leverages, influences, and has on-going access to reporting/non-reporting resources to achieve results.
? Develops and implements tactical plans for department including priorities, objectives, and timelines to meet goals.
? Manages alignment and consistency in people practices, management activities, and customer service delivery to achieve goals.
? Identifies integrated partnership opportunities which benefit Marketing, Sales, Cox Media and/or Cox Business, cultivates those relationships, and coordinates internal resources to increase revenue.
? May develop policies and procedures for department to standardize practices.
? Analyzes market trends; coordinates and communicates with others to determine appropriate responses.
? Establishes and leverages strong partnerships with key departments and internal/external customers.
? Will be responsible for contributing to aspects of departmental budgeting.
? May participate in hiring decisions, employee development, training and managing performance. Motivates and coaches? others to achieve department and company goals.
? Will directly manage one or more team members.


Influence/People Leadership - Manages Service, Production, or Support employees via one or more exempt professional individual contributors and associated support staff OR may be a manager without direct reports, with primary responsibility for overseeing special groups/projects or processes with dotted-line accountability to the field;); Manages supervisors/team leaders and/or team of exempt individual contributors and associated support staff; Ensures performance planning, coaching, and evaluation occurs per policy.
Supervision - Typically supervises one or more exempt professional individual contributors and associated support staff.
Span of Control/Complexity - Typically supervises a team of professional individual contributors; may also directly or indirectly supervise support staff; activities are typically more diverse covering multiple functions OR may be responsible for complex projects having significant scope/impact.
Decision-Making Authority - With oversight from higher level managers, achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
Financial - Contributes to development of an operating plan and budget; Generally responsible for managing or coordinating expenses within a budget or part of a larger budget; May manage or coordinate a project budget or multiple project budgets
Consequence of Error - Actions at this level can cause or prevent delays, inefficiencies or unnecessary expense that measurably affect operational results of a CCI business or the efficiency and effectiveness of a team &/or projects managed.
Typical Problems Solved - Solutions require analysis and investigation beyond what might have been applied in past experiences; problems are broadly defined and require interpretation.
Core Functions - Manages a part of a department or large project team; Supervises, coordinates, provides leadership to and reviews the work of professional level subordinates to accomplish operational plans and results; Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to direct reports, subunits and/or project team to meet service and budget targets.
Technical/Admin Work Performed - May spend a significant portion of time as an individual contributor performing assignments that require a higher level of experience or technical expertise than direct reports OR may be an in-depth functional manager OR may manage complex projects or processes.


Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum

? 7+ years of experience required in related field (Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.)
? 5+ with advanced degree.
? Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
? Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization
? Strong Communication Skills?
? Build and present PPT presentation to Organizational Leaders
? Broad understanding of business
? Exhibits executive presence
Preferred
? BS/BA in related discipline
? 2 or more years of experience in a management role preferred or leading cross functional projects preferred
? Experience in telecommunications industry desired
? Corporate communications or media relations experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
